GOD IS YOUR SOURCE

KEY VERSE:
“But my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” — Philippians 4:19

INTRODUCTION
Many believers make the mistake of looking to people, systems, or organizations as their financial source. Yet, true and lasting provision flows only from one Source—God Almighty. When we confuse the channel with the Source, we risk frustration, fear, and disappointment.

MESSAGE

  1. The Illustration of the Faucet
The story is told of Lawrence of Arabia. He once brought some Arabian friends to Paris in France after World War I. He showed them the city’s most famous landmarks such as the Louvre, the Arc de Triomphe, and Napoleon’s tomb. Yet, what fascinated his friends most was not the monuments they saw, but the water faucet in the hotel bathroom. They were amazed that by simply turning a handle, water flowed freely. Before leaving the hotel, Lawrence found them trying to detach the faucet, saying, “We live in a dry land; if we take this home, we’ll have all the water we want.” He had to explain that the faucet was useless without connection to the water source.
  1. God Is the True Source
This story mirrors how many Christians treat earthly channels—jobs, relatives, government, or business—as their source of supply. Like the faucet, these channels only function because they are connected to something greater. The moment that connection breaks, the flow ceases. Your job is not your source—it is only a channel. God is the One who supplies, sustains, and multiplies all provision.
  1. Stay Connected to the Source
In the wilderness, God provided manna for Israel. But when they entered the Promised Land, the manna stopped because God opened another channel. He gave them fruit from the land (Joshua 5:12). The Source never changed; only the channel did. When one door closes, don’t panic. The same God who opened the first will open another. Your focus must remain on Him.

CONCLUSION
If your “faucet” stops flowing—whether it’s a job, a business, or a benefactor—don’t despair. Lift your eyes to heaven. The Source is still active. God will never run dry or fail to provide for His own.

PRACTICAL REFLECTION
Am I depending on the faucet or staying connected to the Source? Remember, faith in the Source guarantees continuous flow, even when one channel stops.

SIMPLE SUMMARY
Jobs, businesses, and people are only channels of provision. God alone is the true and unchanging Source. Jesus made it clear that we can do nothing unless we abide in Him. Stay connected to Him.

PRAYER POINTS

  1. Thank God for being your unfailing Source of supply.
  2. Ask for grace to trust God more than human channels.
