KEY VERSE
“Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.” — Hebrews 4:16
INTRODUCTION
One of the greatest benefits of understanding righteousness is confidence before God.
Many believers love God sincerely, yet they still approach Him with fear, guilt, and uncertainty. They pray hesitantly, worship cautiously, and expect little—because deep inside, they still feel unworthy.
This struggle does not come from sin alone. It comes from not fully understanding righteousness.
Today, you will discover how righteousness gives you bold access to God, not because of your performance, but because of your position in Christ.
MESSAGE
1. RIGHTEOUSNESS REMOVES FEAR FROM GOD’S PRESENCE
Fear makes people hide from God, just as Adam did after the fall. But righteousness restores confidence.
“There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus.” — Romans 8:1
Condemnation pushes you away from God. Righteousness draws you near.
2. YOU APPROACH GOD AS A CHILD, NOT A CRIMINAL
When you understand righteousness, you stop approaching God like a suspect seeking mercy and start approaching Him like a son seeking help.
“For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption.” — Romans 8:15
God is not tolerating you. He has accepted you fully in Christ.
3. BOLDNESS IS NOT PRIDE—IT IS FAITH
Some believers think boldness before God is arrogance. It is not.
Boldness is simply agreeing with what God has already done.
“Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus.” — Hebrews 10:19
Your confidence is not in yourself. It is in the blood of Jesus.
4. RIGHTEOUSNESS GIVES YOU CONFIDENCE IN PRAYER
When you doubt your standing with God, your prayers become weak. But when you know you are righteous, you pray with expectation.
“The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.” — James 5:16
You don’t pray hoping God will listen. You pray knowing He already hears.
5. ACCESS PRECEDES AUTHORITY
You cannot exercise authority where you lack access. Righteousness gives you both.
Before you can stand against the devil, you must be able to stand before God without fear.
“And hast made us kings and priests unto our God.” — Revelation 5:10
Priests have access. Kings have authority. Righteousness gives you both.
CONCLUSION
Righteousness is not just about forgiveness, it is about relationship.
It gives you the right to stand before God boldly, confidently, and without fear.
If you still feel distant from God, the issue is not that God has withdrawn. It is that you may not yet be standing fully in the revelation of righteousness.
PRACTICAL REFLECTION
Ask yourself:
- Do I approach God with confidence or fear?
- Do I run to God or hide from Him instead of drawing near?
