BEGINNING A NEW SEASON

KEY VERSE:
“Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.” — Isaiah 43:19 (KJV)

INTRODUCTION
The wilderness may feel like a place of dryness and delay, but throughout the Bible, it was often the place where new seasons began. In God’s hands, even the desert becomes a place of destiny. When you feel isolated, overlooked, or unsure of the next step, remember—God may be preparing to birth something brand new in your life.

MESSAGE

  1. The Wilderness as a Womb for Destiny
    • Joseph was cast into a pit in the wilderness, yet it marked the start of his journey toward greatness in Egypt.
    • Moses, once a fugitive, encountered the burning bush and stepped into his divine calling.
    • Elijah entered the wilderness weary and broken, but came out with renewed strength and a fresh assignment from heaven.
  2. The Wilderness as a Training Ground
    • John the Baptist was raised in the desert, being prepared to introduce the Messiah.
    • Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, where He fasted, prayed, and overcame the enemy—then emerged in power to begin His public ministry.
    • Paul withdrew to the desert to be taught by God before launching his apostolic mission to the Gentiles.
  3. The Wilderness as a Place of Revelation
    1. John, exiled on Patmos, was alone but not forgotten. There, he received the powerful revelation of the end-times, the final book of the Bible.

If God could do something new for all these people in the wilderness, He can do the same for you. He specializes in making “a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert” (Isaiah 43:19).

CONCLUSION
The wilderness is not your ending—it may be your new beginning. Don’t despise your dry season. Let God show you the “new thing” He wants to do in your life. He’s not just bringing you out of something; He’s preparing to launch you into something greater.

PRACTICAL REFLECTION
Ask yourself: What is God birthing in me during this wilderness season? Am I open to the new thing He wants to do—even if it doesn’t look like what I expected?

SIMPLE SUMMARY
God often begins new seasons in the wilderness. Don’t fear the desert. It’s where destiny is born and rivers begin to flow.

MEMORY VERSE:
“Behold, the former things are come to pass, and new things do I declare: before they spring forth I tell you of them.” — Isaiah 42:9 (KJV)

PRAYER POINTS

  1. Father, open my heart to perceive the new thing You are doing in my life, even in dry places.
  2. Lord, use this wilderness season to prepare me for greater impact and deeper intimacy with You.
  3. Holy Spirit, let rivers of revelation and refreshing flow through my desert season and guide me into my new beginning.
