DIVINE PARTNERSHIP

KEY VERSE:
“The Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.”
Joshua 1:9b (KJV)

INTRODUCTION:
God never calls you to a destiny without equipping you—and He never works in isolation. Throughout Scripture, we see a consistent pattern: God works with and through people to accomplish His divine purposes. He initiates, empowers, and promises, but He also requires obedience, faith, and action from His people.

MESSAGE:

  1. God Uses People to Fulfill His Purposes
From Genesis to Revelation, God’s divine agenda has always involved human cooperation.
  • He used Noah to build an ark that preserved humanity.
  • He used Joseph to save nations during a time of famine.
  • He used Moses to lead Israel out of Egypt.
  • He used Ezra and Nehemiah to rebuild Jerusalem.
  • He used the prophets to speak His word.
  • He used twelve ordinary men and the early Church to spread the gospel across the world.

God still uses people today—including you.

  1. Joshua 1: A Model of Divine Partnership
In Joshua 1, we see a clear outline of both God’s part and Joshua’s (and the people’s) part in the conquest of the Promised Land.

The People’s Responsibility:

  • Arise (v.2)
  • Go over into the land (v.2)
  • Be strong and courageous (v.6–9)
  • Do not fear or be dismayed (v.9)
  • Claim their inheritance (v.6)
  • Commit to God’s Word:
    • Observe it
    • Obey it
    • Meditate on it
    • Speak it
    • Stay focused on it (v.7–8)
  • Prepare themselves to possess the land (v.11)

God’s Promises and Responsibility:

  • To give them the land (v.2–4)
  • To ensure no enemy could stand against them (v.5)
  • To be with them as He was with Moses (v.5)
  • To never fail or forsake them (v.5)
  • To make their way prosperous and give good success (v.7–8)
  • To go with them wherever they went (v.9)
  1. Divine Destiny Requires Human Responsibility
Too many believers wait for God to “do everything,” forgetting that He is waiting for their obedience. God’s promises are powerful—but they require partnership. You must arise, go, believe, obey, and prepare to receive what He has already given.

CONCLUSION:
God has made you incredible promises—promises of provision, purpose, protection, and prosperity. But these promises are not passive. You have a part to play. As you walk in faith and obedience, heaven partners with you to bring destiny to fulfillment.

PRACTICAL REFLECTION:
Are you waiting for God to act while ignoring what He’s already told you to do? Review the responsibilities given to Joshua and ask yourself: Am I rising up? Am I obeying? Am I meditating on the Word? Take action—God is ready to fulfill His part.

SIMPLE SUMMARY:
God’s promises are sure, but they require your partnership. When you obey His commands, He empowers you to possess your inheritance and fulfill your destiny.

MEMORY VERSE:
“Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you…”James 4:8a (KJV)

PRAYER POINTS:

  1. Lord, thank You for the promises You’ve made concerning my life.
  2. Help me to take responsibility for my part and walk in full obedience.
  3. Strengthen my faith to act on Your Word and step boldly into my inheritance.
