THE PROVISION (PART 1)

KEY VERSE:

“And the manna ceased on the morrow after they had eaten of the old corn of the land; neither had the children of Israel manna any more; but they did eat of the fruit of the land of Canaan that year.” – Joshua 5:12

INTRODUCTION

As Israel journeyed into the Promised Land, God shifted their supply from manna to the fruit of the land. What sustained them in the wilderness was no longer necessary in Canaan. This change teaches us that God’s provision is progressive—He never stops providing, but He moves us from one level of supply to another.

MESSAGE

1.     God’s Provision Never Fails

The manna ceased only when a new source of supply was already available. If one channel of provision closes, it means God has prepared a greater and better one. When the manna stops, the “new corn” is ready!

2.     Moving from Basics to Maturity

Just as Israel moved from manna to the fruit of the land, believers must grow from spiritual milk to spiritual meat. The basics are important, but God calls us to maturity so we can fulfill our destiny and stand strong in battles of life (Hebrews 6:1; 1 Peter 2:2).

3.     Why Many Don’t Mature

o   Unskillful in the Word: Remaining ignorant of Scripture keeps believers as babes (Hebrews 5:13).

o   Failure to Apply the Word: Revelation increases only when we obey what God has already taught us (Hebrews 5:12).

o   Carnality: Strife, envy, and divisions hinder growth and keep believers immature (1 Corinthians 3:1-3).

CONCLUSION

God is always faithful in provision, but He expects us to grow. The manna was for the wilderness, but the fruit of the land was for Canaan.

The end of one season is always the beginning of another. Just as manna gave way to fruit, God is moving you into higher provision and deeper maturity. Spiritual growth is the key to enjoying the fullness of God’s promises. Refuse to remain a babe; embrace growth, and you will step into your inheritance.

PRACTICAL REFLECTION

When God shifts your provision, don’t panic—recognize it as a call to maturity and advancement. Ask yourself: Am I still feeding on milk, or am I pressing into the deeper things of God?

SIMPLE SUMMARY

God’s provision never ends, it only changes levels. To enjoy His fullness, we must grow from spiritual milk to meat and walk in maturity.

PRAYER POINTS

1.     Lord, help me to recognize and embrace every new level of Your provision.

2.     Deliver me from carnality, strife, and immaturity in my walk with You.

3.     Father, lead me into deeper understanding and maturity in Your Word.
