WORKING THE WORKS OF GOD

KEY VERSE
“Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done. And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.”Matthew 21:21-22

INTRODUCTION

Jesus delegated incredible authority to His followers. He did not just call us to believe in Him, but to do the works He did—and even greater works! In Matthew 21:21-22, Jesus made it clear that faith can move mountains:
“If ye have faith, and doubt not…ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done.”

This is the authority that belongs to every believer. We have been given the power to speak to obstacles—mountains of oppression, sickness, depression, and spiritual bondage—and see them removed by the power of God.

MESSAGE

Often, when we face situations that require God’s supernatural intervention—like ministering to the sick, casting out demons, or setting the oppressed free—some believers might feel ill-equipped. They might say, “I don’t have the gift of healing.” Or “I don’t have the gift of deliverance.”

But in Acts 3, when Peter encountered the lame man at the gate of the temple, he didn’t hesitate. He boldly declared, “Such as I have, give I thee.” Peter knew that he had the authority to act in the name of Jesus. He didn’t claim his own power, but rather, he recognized that the authority of Jesus was operating through him.

Peter continued: “In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk” (Acts 3:6). His words weren’t just empty statements; they carried the full authority of Heaven behind them. And the man rose up and walked.

Just like Peter, we have been given the same authority to speak the Word of God and expect results. Jesus spoke the Word and it was accomplished. Peter and the disciples spoke the Word, and it was done. We can speak the Word with the same authority, knowing that God’s power backs up every declaration.

The Greek word for authority is exousia, which means “the ability to go beyond oneself.” It is delegated power, granted by God to accomplish His will. This authority is not something we generate on our own, but something given to us by God Himself, who works in us, with us, and through us.

APPLICATION

When you minister to others in proof-producing power, you are not acting by your own strength or ability. It is the Lord working through you, with signs following. Jesus delegated His authority to you—He lives in you and works through you.

Take a moment to reflect: Look at your hands. These are the hands that God wants to use to heal, deliver, and set people free. The disciples understood this truth, and it made their ministry dynamically effective. They spoke the Word with faith, and the Lord worked with them to confirm the Word with signs and wonders.

You have the same authority. You have the same power to speak life into dead situations. It is not your miracles, but the Lord working through you that produces the proof of His power.

CONCLUSION

Don’t underestimate the power you have as a believer. You are empowered to speak to mountains and see them move. You are equipped to minister healing, deliverance, and freedom to the brokenhearted, just as the disciples did. The Lord wants to work through you just as He did through them.

The keys to producing the proof are simple: speak the Word, act in God’s authority, and trust that He will work with you. These supernatural methods will never fail—they will accomplish the works of God in your life and through you to others.
