 A PLACE OF PURPOSE

 KEY VERSES

“This is the purpose that is purposed upon the whole earth: and this is the hand that is stretched out upon all the nations. For the Lord of hosts hath purposed, and who shall disannul it? and his hand is stretched out, and who shall turn it back?” — Isaiah 14:26-27 (KJV)

 INTRODUCTION

God is not random. He is a God of intentionality and divine purpose. Nothing happens by accident in your life. Even in seasons of hardship and uncertainty, His hand is working out His perfect plan.

 MESSAGE

 1. God’s Sovereign Purpose

The Lord does all things according to His divine counsel _*(Ephesians 1:11).*_ He has purposed things not only on the earth but also in your personal journey. Romans 8:28 assures us that “all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”

Even the manifestation of Jesus Christ was purpose-driven: “For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.” (1 John 3:8)

 2. Purpose in the Wilderness

Wilderness seasons are not wasted seasons. God uses them to refine, strengthen, and prepare us. When the new generation of Israelites journeyed through the wilderness, their experiences shaped them into a people ready to conquer. Difficult circumstances develop the mindset, resilience, and spiritual focus needed to step into your destiny.

 3. Seeking Purpose in Dry Places

When you find yourself in a spiritual desert, ask: What is God teaching me here? In times of affliction, when distractions are stripped away, you are better positioned to hear God’s voice and rediscover your purpose. Throughout Scripture, key leaders like Moses, David, and Paul all had wilderness experiences where God prepared them for the next phase of their assignment.

 4. Job’s Example: Tried for Purpose

Job’s wilderness was marked by severe loss and confusion. He confessed:

“Behold, I go forward, but he is not there; and backward, but I cannot perceive him: On the left hand, where he doth work, but I cannot behold him…” (Job 23:8-9)

Have you ever felt that God is hidden from you? Even when Job could not trace God, he still trusted Him:

“But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.” (Job 23:10)

5. The Wilderness Shapes Vision

Every desert season has its unique assignment. Sometimes it’s for correction. Other times it’s for redirection or deepening intimacy with God. Whatever the reason, your wilderness is connected to your spiritual vision and purpose. It is not a detour—it is a divine process.

CONCLUSION

The wilderness is a place of purpose. It is a sacred classroom where God forges your character, strengthens your faith, and aligns your heart with His will. Trust the process. God is leading you to something greater.
