NEW BELIEVERS GUIDE
NEW BELIEVERS GUIDE
Now That You’re Born Again… What’s Next?
Congratulations once again on your decision to follow Jesus! Your new life in Christ is just beginning, and like a newborn, growth is essential. To grow in grace and deepen your relationship with God, here are important steps you should take:
1. Join a Bible-Based Church
Connect with a fellowship where God’s Word is faithfully taught, and where holiness is lived out as a lifestyle. Fellowship with other believers will strengthen and encourage your walk with God.
(Hebrews 10:24–25; Acts 2:42, 46; Psalm 133:1)
2. Feed on God’s Word Daily
Study and meditate on the Bible regularly. Let it guide your decisions, shape your character, and strengthen your faith. God’s Word is both spiritual milk and solid food for your soul.
(1 Peter 2:2; 2 Timothy 2:15; John 15:7; Joshua 1:8; Psalm 119:11, 105; Matthew 4:4; John 6:63; James 1:22–25)
3. Cultivate a Life of Prayer
Prayer is your lifeline to God. Speak to Him daily in the name of Jesus, by the help of the Holy Spirit. Prayer brings power, peace, and intimacy with God.
(Matthew 7:7; Luke 18:1; 1 Thessalonians 5:16–17; James 5:16; James 4:2; John 16:24; Ephesians 6:18; Psalm 100)
4. Live a Life of Praise and Worship
Worship invites God’s presence. Whether privately or with others, express your love and gratitude to Him through praise and worship.
(Psalm 22:3; John 4:23–24; Psalm 100:4; Psalm 33:1; Psalm 34:1; Psalm 103:1–5; Acts 16:25–26)
5. Spend Quiet Time with God
Set aside time daily—especially in the early morning or at night—to be alone with God. Meditate on His Word and let the Holy Spirit speak to your heart.
(Isaiah 40:31; Psalm 91:1–8; John 15:4–6; Psalm 63:1; Psalm 42:1; Psalm 127:1; Zechariah 4:6; 1 Samuel 2:9)
6. Share Your Faith Boldly
Look for opportunities to tell others about Jesus and lead them to salvation. Sharing your testimony is one of the greatest acts of love.
(Matthew 10:33; Mark 16:15–16; 1 Corinthians 9:16; Proverbs 11:30; 2 Timothy 2:4; Acts 1:8)
7. Be an Example of a True Believer
Let your words and actions reflect the character of Christ. You are now His ambassador—live in a way that honors Him.
(2 Corinthians 5:17; 1 Timothy 4:12; Matthew 5:13–16; Romans 12:1–2; Hebrews 12:14; 1 Peter 1:16; 2 Corinthians 3:2; 6:14–18; Proverbs 4:23; Psalm 34:13–14)
8. Walk in Victory Over Sin
Sin no longer has power over you. As you walk in the Spirit, you’ll overcome the desires of the flesh. Christ has already won the victory!
(Romans 6:14–16; 1 John 5:4; Romans 8:1–2; Galatians 5:16–17; Philippians 4:13; Romans 6:1–14, 18)
9. Stand Strong Through Trials
Life may bring challenges, but with Christ, you are more than a conqueror. Trust Him—He will see you through.
(2 Corinthians 2:14; 1 Corinthians 10:13; John 16:33; Romans 8:31; Hebrews 13:5; 1 John 5:4; James 1:2–4; Revelation 12:11; Exodus 14:14; 2 Thessalonians 3:16)
10. Trust God to Meet Your Needs
God is your faithful Provider. He knows what you need and delights in supplying it according to His riches and glory.
(Philippians 4:19; 2 Peter 1:3; Mark 11:24; Matthew 19:26; Hebrews 11:6; James 1:6–8; 1 Timothy 6:17; John 16:24)
