Now that you’re born again, you need to take some steps to help you grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

1) You have to identify with a Bible-based Church, where the word of God is rightly preached and where holiness is accepted as way of life
(Hebrews 10:24 – 25; Acts 2:42, 46; Psalm 133:1).

2) You must nourish yourself in the sincere milk and meat of God’s word and apply it to every area of your life
(1 Peter 2:2; 2 Timothy 2:15; John 15:17; Joshua 1;8; Psalm 119:11; Mathew 4:4; John 6:63,  Psalm 119:105; James 1:22 – 25).

3) You must cultivate a lifestyle of prayer to God in the name of Jesus and in the power of the Holy Spirit
(Matthew 7:7; Luke 18:4; 1 Thessalonian 5:16 – 17; James 5 16; James 4:2; John 16:24; Ephesians 6:18; Psalm 100:).

4) Develop a habit of praise and worship to God
(Psalm 22:3; John 4:23 – 24; Psalm 100:4; Psalm 33:1; Psalm 34:1; Psalm 103:1 – 5; Acts 16:25 – 26)

5) You must maintain a daily quiet time of fellowship or communion with God by the help of the Holy Spirit, especially early in the morning and late at night and meditate upon God’s word.
(Isaiah 40:31; Psalm 91:1 – 8; John 15:4 – 6; Psalm 63:1; Psalm 42:1; Psalm 127:1; Zechariah 4:6; 1 Samuel 2:9)

6) Always be on the look out for any opportunity to share your faith with others and lead them to Christ
(Mathew 10:33; Mark 16:15 – 16; 1 Corinthians 9:16; Proverbs 11:30; 2 Timothy 2:4; Acts 1:8)

7) Be an example of a true believer in words and deed
(2 Corinthians 5:17; 1 Timothy 4:12; Mathew 5:13 – 16; Romans 12:1 – 2; Hebrews 12:14; 1 Peter 1:16; 2 Corinthians 3:2; 2 Corinthians 6:14 – 18; Proverbs 4:23; Psalm 34:13 – 14)

8) Sin shall not have dominion over you. As you walk in the Spirit, you shall not fullfil the desires of the flesh.
(Romans 6:14-16; 1 John 5:4; Romans 8:1 – 2; Galatians 5:16-17; Philippians 4:13; Romans 6:1-14, 18)

9) You will triumph over trials and adversity
(2 Corinthians 2:14; 1 Corinthians 10:13; John 16:33;
Romans 8:31; Hebrews 13:5; 1 John 5:4; James 1:2 – 4; Revelation 12:11; Exodus 14:14; 2 Thessalonians 3:16)

10) Trust God for your needs
(Philippians 4:19; 2 Peter 1:3; Mark 11:24; Matthew 19:26; Hebrews 11:6;  James 1:6 – 8; 1 Timothy 6:17; John 16:24)
